The trail provides hikers with a spectacular view of the lake and an abundance of spots to go swimming. The land was purchased in 1884 and has since served as a hiking spot for citizens of Coeur d’Alene. The are around Tubbs Hill is filled with parks and beaches. McEuen Park has basketball courts, a playground, dog park, and outdoor seating. Further down the shore is the Coeur d’Alene City Park. This park also includes basketball courts and a playground. However, since this park is located closer to the water there is a long strip of beach just waiting for you. So, whether you want to lay out and get a tan or rent a sailboat, the beach is always a good time. If you're interested in renting a sailboat or maybe some kayaks there are plenty of rental services in Coeur d’Alene. North Idaho College, the local college, offers rentals and is located right on the beach. If you're looking for a fast way to get out there we recommend considering them.
Another common sight on Lake Coeur d’Alene is fishing. Throwing a line in the water can result in catching a variety of fish. You can bring up anything from a trout to a pike!
